The mountain village with 4 sections lies on Hochtannberg, the treeless undulating hillside between the well known ski area Arlberg and the splendid alpine peaks of Allgäu. Schröcken lies on the end of the Bregenzerwald extending 65km from Bregenz to Hochtannberg. The village lies at the foot of the well known mountains Widderstein, Mohnenfluh, Braunarlspitze, Künzelspitze and issurrounded by alpine forests and mountain meadows. Accessible via Bregenz/Bezau or Reutte/Tirol-Lechtal-Warth Hochtannberg pass-Schröcken. The charming "Körbersee" (1662m), ideal for swimming, belongs to this municipalityand can be reached via a beautiful pathway. The hikers and wanderers can explore many possibilities on thenumerous mountains where shelter huts, mountain lakes and flora and fauna can be found. For the swimmers thereis an indoor swimmingpool in Schröcken, the above mentioned "Körbersee", as well as heated swimming pools in Lech (15km) and Au (11km). Other forms of entertainment activities include fishing, village concerts, dancing, restaurants, car trips to lake Constance, Tyrol, circular trip around Vorarlberg, Silvretta or a trip to Switzerland or Allgäu. The music loving guest has the possibility to join the music club while vacationing in Schröcken. WINTER: The snow covered mountain village has an excellent ski resort on Hochtannberg to 2050m high.
