This trim little village, also a high altitude health spa and international winter playground lies at the endof the valley of the Montafon at the beginning of the famous Silvretta alpine pass and a distance of 25kmfrom Bludenz. It has an ideal healing climate for respiratory ailments for example. Here is also the idealstarting point for tours into the Silvretta range with its glaciers and 3000 m high mountains which stretchinto Tyrol and Switzerland. The Silvretta alpine pass extends to the Bieler Höhe (2000 m) where the reservoirand power station can be found. From the Silvretta reservoir one has a fantastic view to the highest mountainin the Vorarlberg, the Piz Buin - 3316 meters with its glittering glacier. For the whole family it is highlyrecommended to take a walk from the reservoir to the Wiesbadner alpine club hut (a nondangerous climb lastingapproximately two hours). From this hut, which is situated right on the edge of the glacier, one has the closest vantage point to look at the imposing Piz Buin and watch the mountain climbers commence their ascent.
