1286m. Ausservillgraten, population 1026, East Tyrol lies on the sunny, southern side of the Alps and to this day retainsits original Tyrolean character. Ausservillgraten, a widely scattered farming comunity lies 5km from the larger Sillian (1000m, pop. 2000) in a romantic, unspoilt side valley of the Hochpustertal which leads to East Tyrol's capital Lienz (30km) andthen on to South Tyrol/Italy where the beautiful Dolomites begin (14km).
