Elevation 1850m. At the crest of the mighty Tauern range, Austria's highest mountain group are the graduallyflatter and smoother treetopped mountains of the Nockberge (2000m) in the Reichenau region where holidayresorts and farmer villages in the altitude range 1000-1900m are to be found. Falkertsee is in the neighborhoodof the Kärntner lakes, as distance of approximately 30 min. driving from the village of Patergassen (1063m) and 5 min. to the thermalhealth resort of Bad-Kleinkirchheim and to Klagenfurt which is 40km south. Falkertsee is an ideal recreation and walking area embedded in open fields and tree studded pasture lands and isaccessible to Patergassen via an asphalt roadway (8km) where in winter, snow chains are obligatory. Here youwill find a mountain lake (no bathing), very romantic larchtree woods, a few holiday cottages, a mountainhotelwith sauna, a bar and a cosy guest house where many gay evening has been spent singing round the table, yoddling and playing all kinds of music.
